Volunteering for Refreshment Host at May Membership Drive

A membership drive is an important fundraising mechanism for Wisconsin Public Television. During select times over the course of the year, WPT airs special programming designed to raise funds for the station. Viewers can call in to make a contribution and our enthusiastic WPT volunteers are waiting to collect their information using a basic computer software program.

About Refreshment Host

Serve refreshments, snacks and a meal to volunteers and staff. Maintain a clean work space.

Refreshment Host Job Duties

Serve refreshments
Prepare and set out snacks.
Serve meal donated by area restaurant to volunteers and staff.
Replenish food and beverages as needed.
Clean up food service area and volunteer lounge.
Wash and dry dishes.
Other duties as assigned.

Refreshment Host Job Skills and Requirements

Friendly and positive demeanor.
Enjoy working in a people focused environment.
Able to routinely lift food or food containers weighing up to 15 pounds.
Physical mobility to place and remove food from refrigerator and/or cabinets and to reach across food service tables and dining tables to clean them.
Able to follow safe/hygienic food handling practices.
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Experience using basic kitchen equipment.
Previous food service experience preferred but not required.
Minimum age to volunteer is 16.
