From Ancient to Modern Times – The Story of the Jews

Note: Hear Simon Schama on Central Time from Wisconsin Public Radio March 25 at 4 p.m.

Over the next two weeks, historian Simon Schama will illuminate 3,000 years of Jewish history, culture and identity in The Story of the Jews, a new five-part series that airs Tuesdays, March 25 and April 1 on Wisconsin Public Television and online.

An Emmy Award winner and Columbia University history professor, Schama appeared on Charlie Rose earlier this month to promote his new multimedia history project. In the conversation he revealed what he believes is the most important moment in Jewish history and explained why he’s still skeptical he can write a history of the Jewish people.
