Freedom and Loss: Wilderness and industry

The forces of freedom unleashed after the Revolution threaten to become chaos. The new constitutional government`s power brings order but is kept in check by the personal liberties granted by our Bill of Rights. Now, new kinds of Americans begin exploring and exploiting the natural world, which includes indigenous peoples. While exploiters` freedoms subjugate some peoples and parts of nature, they also increase desires for liberty.
