“Here and Now” Tonight

Tonight on “Here and Now,” Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, responds to the Milwaukee Sheriff’s call that citizens arm themselves for protection while they wait for police to respond to a 9-1-1 call.
Also tonight, dairy industry groups call for immigration reform to allow employer certainty. Studies show that more than 40% of workers on dairy farms are immigrant labor — 90% of that number from Mexico.
Plus, we look at new air test results taken from frac sand mining sites in Wisconsin. We hear from the UW-Eau Claire researcher who conducted the tests and relay response from the state DNR.
Reporter Zac Schultz details the new jobs package from legislative democrats. Minority leaders say they’ve already met with the Governor and he could consider some of their ideas.
