Volunteering for Data Entry at PBS Wisconsin Online Auction

Volunteers make our Online Auction happen! Each spring, PBS Wisconsin hosts its annual auction fundraiser. More than 800 businesses donate thousands of items that are sold online to raise funding that supports PBS Wisconsin’s programming and activities.

About Data Entry

Enter data from bid packets into Auction software program.

Data Entry Job Duties

  • Pick up a confirmed bid packet. 
  • Review packet to identify winner bidder or bidders for each item.
  • Pull up item number in the database.
  • Link item to winning bidder either by express bid number, name or entering a new bidder into the system.
  • Input amount of winning bid and how customer will receive item.
  • Confirm accuracy of entered data.
  • Re-assemble bid packet and place in basket.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by your captain.
  • Direct questions to your captain as needed.

Data Entry Job Skills and Requirements

  • Experience working with computers and general word processing programs.
  • Basic keyboarding proficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex data to determine best method of data entry.
  • Able to carry out consistently accurate work.
  • Can work efficiently in a sometimes noisy and hectic environment.
  • Ability to discern when to ask your captain for assistance.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • General understanding of Auction is recommended but not required.
  • Volunteers 16 and older may participate.
