Volunteering for Merchandise Mover at PBS Wisconsin Online Auction

Volunteers will work in teams to complete the following job duties: 

Team 1:

• Pick up a manila envelope and review list of items to be collected for your board.
• Locate a triangle cart.  Retrieve Auction items and visuals from the warehouse and place on the cart.
• Clip envelope to the triangle cart.
• Take completed cart to the display design team.
• Disassemble display carts as they come off the set.
• Place items in their original packaging and return to the warehouse.
• Return table arranging items and visuals to original location.

Team 2:

• Retrieve finished display cart from volunteers. 
• Verify the cart has the correct items, blue sheets, and auctioneer scripts.
• Take item list, auctioneer scripts and blue sheets to the corresponding board location.
• Set up blue sheets on item boards.
• Move cart into on-air position.
• Once filming has been completed, remove cart from set and take to teardown station. 

• Strong attention to detail.
• Physical agility and visual acuity to work with your hands.
• Ability to unwrap and move physical donor items.
• Ability to see and clearly read documents.
• Physically able to stand, walk, stoop, squat and/or bend for the duration of your shift.
• Able to work carefully and accurately in fast paced environment.
• Ability to regularly reach your arms over your head to perform certain job duties.
• Able to routinely and safely lift, carry and move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to discern when to ask for assistance when moving items.
• Ability to read and communicate in English at a 6th grade level.
• Comfortable working in a team oriented atmosphere.
• Volunteers 14 or older may participate.
