Volunteering for Workshop Assistant GE at Garden & Landscape Expo

Garden & Landscape Expo is a community educational event and fundraiser hosted by PBS Wisconsin and the UW-Madison - Extension Horticulture Program. This three-day event celebrates the latest trends in gardening and landscaping with more than one hundred free educational seminars and demonstrations.

About Workshop Assistant GE

Work with presenter to set up workshop area, assist with projects and ensure session runs smoothly.

Workshop Assistant GE Job Duties

Greet participants.
Set up and tear down workshop area.
Replenish supplies.
Answer questions.
Assist participants with projects, if needed.
Distribute and collect evaluation forms.
Stamp hands for re-entry into the Exhibition Hall.
Guide visitors to the location of seminars, demonstrations, exhibitor booths, food stations and other Alliant Energy amenities.
Direct questions to your captain as necessary.

Workshop Assistant GE Job Skills and Requirements

Friendly and positive demeanor.
Strong communication and pronunciation skills.
Enjoy working in a people focused environment.
Physically able to stand and circulate among participants for short periods of time.
Able to routinely lift items weighing up to 10 pounds.
Ability to discern when to ask your captain for assistance.
Volunteers 16 and older may participate.
