Volunteering for Flower Sales at Garden & Landscape Expo

Garden & Landscape Expo is a community educational event and fundraiser hosted by PBS Wisconsin and the UW-Madison - Extension Horticulture Program. This three-day event celebrates the latest trends in gardening and landscaping with more than one hundred free educational seminars and demonstrations.

About Flower Sales

Greet attendees and sell fresh cut flowers in the lobby of the Exhibition Hall. Answer basic questions and direct visitors to seminars, exhibitor booths, food stations and Alliant Energy Center amenities.

Flower Sales Job Duties

Provide visitors with general event information.
Direct visitors to the location of classrooms, quilt exhibits, vendor booths, food stations, and other Alliant Energy Center facilities.
Sell flowers, accepting credit cards and cash, give out correct change.
Direct questions to your captain as needed.

Flower Sales Job Skills and Requirements

Friendly and positive demeanor.
Strong communication and pronunciation skills.
Enjoy working in a people focused environment.
Good arithmetic skills.
Be able to accurately add and quickly make change.
Aural acuity to hear and speak with attendees in an environment that has noise/distractions.
Ability to discern when to ask your captain for assistance.
Volunteers 16 and older may participate.
