Downton Abbey gets the SNL Treatment

Folks say that imitation is the best form of flattery. For my money, parody is even better. That’s why I got so excited when I was watching this week’s Saturday Night Live and saw them lampoon “Downton Abbey.”

In the funny sketch that you can watch below (note: it does have a bit of late-night language), the SNL folks imagine how the male-centric network SpikeTV might promote Downton Abbey if it aired there instead of on PBS. In the end, they deem the show “Fancy Entourage,” but it is the voiceover’s sharp commentary on the Downton characters that is a real hoot.

Watch the clip below and let us know what you think!
