When Will Ferrell showed up for his guest spot on the new Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday, it was quickly clear that he had caught a strong case of Olympic fever. Instead of the usual casual, yet dressy wear favored by talk show guests, Ferrell was wearing a snazzy figure skating costume, replete with a bowler hat, as he began to bemoan his exclusion from Team USA’s figure skating squad.
But, as he graced the audience with a dry land version of his well-practiced routine, he also revealed another passion - Downton Abbey. Okay, passion is probably too strong of a word - “I’m a butler…” Ferrell said as Fallon prodded whether he was Carson. “I don’t know. I’ve never seen it. Is there a butler in it?” Nevertheless, as you’ll see, the routine was flawless (okay, we’ll just go with hilarious). I don’t see any reason why we wouldn’t be seeing Ferrell on ice in Pyeongchang in 2018.
Before then, we can all look forward to the season finale of Downton Abbey at 8 this Sunday night on WPT.
