Powder to the People[series info]
It was a shock to rural Sauk County, Wisconsin, in 1941 when the U.S. government announced that it was building the world's largest ammunition plant in their community. POWDER TO THE PEOPLE focuses on the stories of the thousands of Wisconsin citizens who worked at a plant that played a significant role in the outcome of World War II, the Korean conflict and the Vietnam war. Former workers reflect on the plant's role in the peaceful years since Vietnam and comment on uses for the decommissioned plant and acreage in the future.
