Imitation, as they say, is the best form of flattery, and the same can be said for parody. The Downton Abbey creators must be blushing. Countless parodies — from YouTube videos to children’s books, to Internet memes — have blossomed everywhere. USA Today has a story on two of the more recent efforts.
But our favorite has to be Downton Sixbey from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Well produced and researched, and downright hilarious, it’s obvious that the Late Night writers are fans of Downton Abbey. This mini-saga, set in the show’s studio, has over 20 minutes of material — enough to entertain until the real Downton Abbey returns January 5.
