With Downton Abbey achieving new heights in popularity this season, it appears writer Julian Fellowes has little problem bending the plot lines to his liking — it’s going to take more than the loss of Matthew to end the series’ charm.
So, with the resurgence of Season 4, is it conceivable that we could be enjoying Downton Abbey in 2020? Maybe. Internet rumors stirred earlier this week when Fellowes said he wasn’t sure if there would be a sixth season of Downton. (Season 5 is already confirmed). But producer Gareth Neame set the record straight, saying the series will run somewhere between 5 and 10 years.
But rather than add to the speculation, let’s simply enjoy the now. Here’s a clip from Episode 2, which airs tomorrow night at 8 and online the following day.
