Martha Stewart’s Gingerbread Abbey

PBS’s reigning queen of the kitchen, Martha Stewart, and her team have created Gingerbread Abbey in celebration of Downton Abbey’s fifth season on Masterpiece.

It took two bakers an astounding 36 hours to complete the sticky and sweet replica of the Downton Abbey estate. According to PBS, the structure features 65 caramel windows and required 66 cups of flour, 22 eggs and 11 cups of molasses to create. The team left no detail behind, even including a cookie-size version of the Crawley family’s labrador.

Get in the spirit and make your own Downton Abbey gingerbread creations using Martha’s basic gingerbread recipe. If you’re feeling ambitious this holiday season, you can make your own Gingerbread Abbey using Martha’s step-by-step instructions.
