Big World of Insects, Spiders, Bugs[series info]

Pine Processionary Caterpillers & Peacock Butterflies

These two insects have similar life cycles from caterpillar to butterfly. See the pine processionary caterpillar as it feeds on pine needles and builds its nest. The reason for its unusual name is also revealed. Peacock butterflies are shown first in their caterpillar form, then after emerging from the chrysalis the butterfly is shown as it feeds and flies.
