Hidden Homeless
Green Bay Producer Eileen Littig traveled the path of lost teens from Green Bay to Milwaukee, and Manistique to Escanaba, Michigan. In "Hidden Homeless," she tells the stories of four young people in urban and rural areas with dreams for their futures, including Amber at Walker's Point Youth & Family Center in Milwaukee's South Side. "They were the lucky ones who found people and agencies to help them move on with their lives," Littig said. School social workers and agencies are providing surrogate parenting to youth driven by self-survival from homes wracked by abuse, drugs, alcohol, financial crisis, and where broken families, incarcerated parents, and teen pregnancy are common.
