The Rise and Fall of Cahokia

The Rise and Fall of Cahokia

Samuel Munoz, Doctoral Graduate, Department of Geography, UW-Madison, explores the mid-11th century Cahokia civilization, a major political, agricultural, ritualistic and artistic center in the central Mississippi River valley near what is now St. Louis, Missouri. The disappearance of the civilization around 1200 has mystified archaeologists and geographers for decades.
