Peter Shult, Director of the Communicable Disease Division at the WI State Lab of Hygiene, and Thomas Haupt, Influenza Surveillance Coordinator at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, discuss the causes of the seasonal flu and focus on how it can become a global pandemic. Shult and Haupt focus on the lessons learned from the flu epidemic in the early 20th century.
