Shakespeare's Globe[series info]
Audience
This program guides students on a 400 year trip in time beginning in 1599 observing the customers in a tavern discussing contemporary issues such as the plague, and what they enjoy about going to the theatre; seeing how Kings and Queens behave, witnessing murders, and seeing their "betters" mocked. Back in modern London, the program used a model of the "Wooden O", the Globe to explain the different audience spaces where Shakespeare`s plays were performed until closed in 1642 by the Puritans. The program includes scenes from "Henry V."
