America's Quest for Freedom[series info]

Freedom and Justice: the Civil War Era

The increasing momentum of the Abolitionist Movement was accompanied by other demands for liberation, especially from the Women`s Rights Convention at Seneca Falls. More and more people see the justice of these new visions of freedom, but not everyone. Lincoln himself may embody this conflict, but his dedication to the justice and liberty promised by the American experiment propels him and the country into the tragedy of Civil War.
