Jordan

Jordan is a monarchy and one of the key modern Middle Eastern countries, but its history includes many important events that continue to influence its people. The River Jordan and Mt. Nebo, reputedly Moses` burial place, have been significant since biblical times. Byzantine, Roman and Nabatean ruins, along with Bedouin culture reflect both the past and the present. The city of Amman reveals Western influences alongside Arabic and Islamic faces and cultures.
