Technology & Architecture in Ancient Civilizations[series info]
Greek Designs of Beauty
The Greeks saw humans as equally interesting and noble to the gods, in contrast to other civilizations of the Ancient Era. This philosophical distinction enabled technological and artistic achievements to soar beyond anything previously seen. From the Palace of Knossos to the Oracle at Delphi, from the communal and democratic theatres to the Colossus of Rhodes and the temple at Olympia, Greek architecture and sculpture kept improving. The Parthenon of Athens reached the summit of perfections in its subtle and graceful design elements.
