U.S. Senate Race

Tonight on “Here and Now,” we hear in-depth interviews with two of the Republican candidates running for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin. Reporter Zac Schultz sat down with all four Republicans running in the primary and we are airing his interviews in alphabetical order.
Tonight we hear from Mark Neumann and Eric Hovde. Zac tells me the Neumann interview covered a lot of ground and the Hovde interview went deep on detail on fewer issues.
Also running in that race: former Governor Tommy Thompson and Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald. Rep. Fitzgerald’s interview aired two week ago on “Here and Now,” and can be seen online at wpt.org and on wisconsinvote.org. In fact, all the interviews are posted online.
Tommy Thompson’s interview airs next week.
Also, this program note: Wisconsin Public Television will air a live U.S. Senate Primary debate August 10 at 8 p.m. and Zac produced profile reports of the Republican candidates (and he will profile the Democratic candidate, U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin), which will air in a stand-alone special Thursday, August 9 at 7:30 p.m.
