Human Rights Campaign endorsement

Yesterday, we reported the major endorsement that Rep. Kelda Helen Roys (D-Madison) received from Emily’s List, the nation’s largest group advocating for women in politics, in her campaign for Congress in Wisconsin’s 2nd District.

Today, one of her opponents, Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Madison) announced a major endorsement of his own. The Human Rights Campaign, the largest civil rights organization advocating for gays, lesbian and transgender Americans, is backing his campaign to replace U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Madison), who’s running for the U.S. Senate.

The HRC endorsement gives Pocan access to more an organization with more than a million members around the U.S.

Besides Pocan and Roys, Dane County Treasurer Dave Worzala is also running for the office.
