Wow. That’s a lot of signatures. This week democrats turned in what they estimated to be 1.9 million signatures in their efforts to recall Governor Scott Walker, Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and four republican state senators. They say about one million of them were for the Governor.
On “Here and Now” this week, reporter Zac Schultz, covers all sides of the story. And, no sooner is the ink dry on the recall signatures than the first democrat formally steps up to the plate to run against Governor Walker. We hear from former Dane County Executive, Kathleen Falk.
Also, a check with political scientist and pollster, Charles Franklin, as Wisconsin makes historic headlines once again. Wisconsin Democracy Campaign director, Mike McCabe, forecasts how big the campaign spending will be for this election - assuming it’s a go following close inspection of all those signatures.
Finally, we’ll hear from the opinion page editor from the Eau Claire Leader Telegram. (By the way, that newspaper does not endorse candidates.) We’ll ask Tom Giffey what his readers make of a very busy petition drive in that region and the take in northwest Wisconsin on potential challenger candidates.
That’s on “Here and Now,” Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
