Being Hmong Means Being Free
For 25 years, thousands of Hmong people have come to the U.S. as refugees from their Southeast Asian homeland. For many Hmong, making the transition from their rural subsistence farming communities to a society of cities and towns in the heart of the Midwest has required tremendous adaptation. "Being Hmong Means Being Free" offers a rare glimpse of the lives of the Hmong people, their traditions and their lifestyles. 17-year-old Lia Vang narrates this hour-long documentary.
