democracy it is!

Moving beyond traditional textbook treatment of civics and government, "democracy it is!" models democratic participation. Series shows students expressing their rights and fulfilling their responsibilities as citizens of their classrooms, schools, communities, state, tribes, and nation. The Educational Communications Board and Wisconsin Public Television developed democracy it is! in cooperation with a statewide group of educators. The "democracy it is!" web site offers a wide variety of resources for teachers and students, with interactive lab activities, teaching guides, integrated video, and information on the stories featured in the programs.
