Hand in Hand
The goal of "Hand in Hand" is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand and analyze the functioning of communities locally, regionally and globally. Each program reflects themes contained in the National Social Studies Standards, focuses on a universal generalization about communities, uses selected topics and related facts about communities to deepen students` understanding of the concepts and skills developed in each program, develops and demonstrates social studies concepts and skills related to the generalization featured in each program and demonstrates how concepts and skills learned in a local, familiar community are applied to the understanding and analysis of other communities in our nation and the world.
