Volunteers make our Online Auction happen! Each spring, PBS Wisconsin hosts its annual auction fundraiser. More than 800 businesses donate thousands of items that are sold online to raise funding that supports PBS Wisconsin’s programming and activities.

About Donation Acquisition Caller

The purpose of this position is to secure donations for the PBS Wisconsin Online Auction. Volunteers place courtesy calls to current, lapsed, and new business donors from across Wisconsin. Calling starts in December and runs through May at the auction office located in the Division of Extension Building at 432 N. Lake St. in Madison. Parking reimbursement is available for this volunteer position.

Donation Acquisition Caller Job Duties

  • Familiarize yourself with donation levels and important dates
  • Answer donor questions regarding the auction and promotional activities
  • Summarize results of call on a computer
  • Record the name of person contacted and any changes

Donation Acquisition Caller Job Skills and Requirements

  • Friendly interest in speaking with businesses
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Able to work independently 
  • Ability to record call outcomes and complete paperwork
  • Diligent in meeting deadlines
  • Volunteers 16 and older may participate
